I agree, $500 isn't enough. ohwell I have no idea what rent runs in your area, but here in CA in Riverside County, you can't get a 600 sq.ft. one bedroom apartment for less than $6/700 a month, and that's not even a really "nice" place.

I know out here there are some people who rent rooms. I know it's not ideal and you more or less live in your room, but that's one option to consider if you are forced to leave your parents house.

Roomates would be ideal to help with expenses, however I have seen friendships end once they live together, so make sure it's someone that gives you your space and be aware that you must be accomodating to an extent as well.
