No, they pretty much stink all the time. I can open my back door and tell if one is out there in the dark.

I ran one over once, and I ended up having to trade the car in. No matter what we did to clean it, that smell would always come back on a humid day.

The dog got sprayed once. Man, was that bad. We must have bathed her three or four times in one day, and we still ended up at the groomer to get rid of it. Nasty stuff.

My girlfriend LOVES the smell of skunk for some reason. She also always says I smell good. Hmmm...

I'm doing excellent. Molly is good too, she has her moments...always haha. A hyperactive toddler can definitely keep you busy.

I can't remember how I found this Board. But I do remember that my wife kept coming into the office when I was on the computer wondering why I was at this site so much. She finally realized it was harmless.

Wow I just looked at mine and I joined in oct'03. Time flies when you are having fun. I must say I met some wonderful people from the BB.

It kills me to think I created this "new" version of the BB fewer than 2 months (almost to the day) before 9/11/01 (and only because I had just been laid off, so had the time to do it) -- but at the same time, it seems like it's always been here!

I got my first REAL computer (that accessed the internet) back in 1997. Sometime that year I was looking for a Godfather logo (the strings) and I saw Geoff's site and the old message board (complete with black background). I've been hooked since.

It's hard to believe how quickly time flies.

I came to the boards because I was looking up Godfather dialogue for a question a friend had. I got interested in the Boards and just drifted over. I've pretty much been malingering ever since.

we have so many deer here in central jersey. literally everytime i look out the window there are a couple munching our grass. time to re-introduce mountain lions here or make a longer season. i spend time in west virginia and we have just as many, maybe more deer here as they do there. in recent years we have also had an increase in black bear sightings. a few years ago we even had one running across rt 9, a very busy highway.

Easy tiger. I have gotten used to, and enjoy, opening my blinds in the morning and seeing deer. They have no place else to go, we're building all over their home.
Which brings me to my next point..we're over-crowded here in Central Jersey. Please...anyone thinking of moving here, don't. Go south. They have land. Tell your friends.

^^^ i enjoy looking at them too, it just gives me the chills having them run across the road all the time. i haven't ever hit one, but come close so many times.

I never hit one either, thank God. But many times early in the morning, driving on the GSP, I've come waaaay too close. You're right about that.

LOL, NJ is close to NYC and it will become even easier to get into the city once they expand PATH system which they are looking to do in the next 10/15 yrs.

One morning while I was living up in Ithaca and I was heading out to class there was this huge deer literally right outside my apartment door. It was a very random thing and I didnt even know what to do. Needless to say I needed to get to class so I started telling the deer to leave loudly and it eventually left.

My husband hit one once with his old Dodge Stealth. He was able to drive the car home. They don't make them like they used to!

Carmela has a good point. We are so overdeveloped, we've seen animals in our yards that would avoid humans just a few years ago. We've had flocks of wild turkeys, deer, even coyote. My neighbors dog even got eaten by a coyote. And once, when I was driving on the Palisades Parkway, a black bear ran in front of the car.

Neil Diamond finally received his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame yesterday. Tho I think his voice isn't quite as "clear" (for lack of a better word) than it once was, I'v always liked Neil.

From time to time I've let ya'll know some of the goings on in my classes. Here's the jist of a mail I received this summer:

She went on a cruise that consumed 8 days on a ship that did not have internet access. Since the class was an internet class, she kind of had to have internet access. Of course, she didn't check to make sure that the ship had internet access. She ended up failing to submit 4 of 8 assignments.

I'm guessing that the lack of internet access didn't interfere with her having fun on the cruise.

I admit it would be very hard to be somewhere for any length of time, that did NOT have internet access. How did we ever live without it I'll never know.

'The Kiss' smoochers reunited for 67th anniversary of VJ day

It’s taken decades, but it seems the controversy surrounding the couple from the iconic photo "The Kiss" has finally been put to rest. The photo, taken after Japan had announced its surrender and officially ended World War II, shows a sailor and a nurse embracing in Times Square. For many years, the identities of the kissers were unknown, but a Rhode Island historian has confirmed that they are George Mendonsa, a first-class sailor, and Greta Friedman, a dental assistant. Mendonsa did not know Friedman at the time of the kiss, and was actually on a date with another woman, Rita Petrie, who would eventually become his wife. Even so many years later, you have to be impressed that Mendonsa was able to ambush a random woman, kiss her in front of his girlfriend, and end up as a national icon (rather than being kicked to the curb).
