I'm going to sound like a Band nerd here, but I'll explain my odd eating habits today.

I went to my high school to sell snack food to the band kids who had to go to camp as a fundraiser for the band itself. I was expecting to leave around one or so, so I skipped breakfast that morning expecting to eat a good meal later. My Band teacher then told me I could stay for the practice even though it wasn't really meant for me, so I was stuck at the school until about 4:00. I ate a huge meal when I got home, of course, and stayed full until just a few hours ago.

This is why summer vacation is not good for me. I'm going to bed at 4:00/5:00 a.m. and eating food at 3:00 a.m. And Field of Dreams was on ESPN, so I was sitting at the table eating and crying.

I was a night owl last night, but I ended up sleeping the whole morning.

I don't know what my problem was. I've been meaning to watch that movie in whole for the longest, because I've forgotten a lot of the good parts, but it always makes me tear up or get chills...it's just a good baseball movie. But I still felt like an idiot...I was so worried my mom was going to walk out to the kitchen and see me crying over a movie.

Who cares about homework when you can watch TV or movies, though? Lazy nights are the best nights.

I have gotten past the point of caring who catches me crying over movies anymore, because I'm a complete and total sap. I cry over everything, even some episodes of Oprah (like the recent one where the boy lost his legs from a disease and Oprah arranges to have Derek Jeter come to the kid's school, and they fly him off in Trump's helicopter to Yankee Stadium, and he meets all the Yankees, etc.). The two biggest tearjerkers for me are Backdraft and Without a Trace. I sob like a baby, no matter how many times I watch them. My daughter makes fun of me and my mother calls me a name in Italian which means "pissy eyes".

That's so funny! I used to make fun of my mom for being like that, but I've apparently inherited it.

I always make fun of my mom for crying at movies.

That's not good of you. When you see someone cry, it's tactless to laugh at it. Really it feels wery awkward without such comments, but if you have, as we say here, "eyes on wet spot", you just can't help it, and suffering for characters, you must suffer additionally from your own embarassment. Really you must spare your mom, you're strong enough to keep such words. I always try to hide my tears in such cases. It's kinda neurotic feeling, uncontrollable.
