"Bookkeeper" is the only word in the English language with three consecutive double letters.

You mean complete different words? Even my Webster's doesn't have that many. What are they?

Afs,

Elmer Fudd is a cartoon character who always pronounced "r's" like w's. wink i.e. silly wabbit; "dwive a car"; "dwop a ball", etc. wink Kind of a cute little character I think. grin

He says "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." This barely made it past the censors, who wanted to change the rating because of the line.

lol Ok I had to check what a pinata was too before I got the joke Part. We dont have pinata's here in UK YET lol wink

Enjoy your pinata OR play the pinata game. This game would be a lot of fun at a Christmas party or at a Birthday party. Hang the pinata up from the ceiling. Each child takes a turn trying to break the pinata. Blindfold the child who's turn it is. Give the child a stick (a broom handle works well). Turn the child around in a circle 2 or 3 times and point him or her in the direction of the pinata. The child gets to swing the stick 2 or 3 times. Make sure everyone else stands clear of the swinging stick, including the grown-ups!!! Then another child gets a turn. When someone breaks the pinata, all the children get to gather the goodies. You might want to have little paper bags with each child's name on them so the kids have a place to store their goodies for the remainder of the party and a way to carry everything home

Ooh painful

TIS, I forgot to tell you that my family and I didn't have enough time to make it down to Dallas when my folks came down frown I'm in New York right now and unless I can go with another friend of mine, I might not get another chance to go for another 2 years. Sorry, but thought I'd let you know. But I think I can make it down there sometime in the next 2 years if I can get my buddy to go down with me

What's everyone doing up so early? I know this is the usual time that everyone east of me posts on weekdays, but I thought most of the Americans would have the day off today. No?

It is a holiday and I do have the day off. Why I woke up this early is beyond me. Of course if I had to work today, I would've kept hitting the old snooze button.

On the container of my yogurt that I eat in the mornings, it says, "Contains live cultures including acidophilus and bifidus." I'm sure I can look that up and get a scientific explanation somewhere, but I'm not very scientifically inclined... can someone tell me what that means in layman's terms? I'm assuming it's good for you, but what does it do, exactly?
Also, "live" cultures... does that mean there's something living in the yogurt? confused
Pardon my ignorance, by the way.

Zia, These live cultures live in your digestive tract and are good for you. You need them to balance out the "bad" bacteria. Forgive me if I'm getting too graphic and "female" here, but when taking an antibiotic, it wipes out all bacteria, good and bad, which is why you can get a yeast infection when taking antibiotics. That's why yogurt or acidophilus pills are recommended when taking an anitbiotic. Here's more info Acidophilus lest I gross out anyone with further details.

ACIDOPHILUS

This is a powder form of the normal, friendly bacteria that live in our intestines (called flora). Our intestinal flora helps regulate our digestion and stool patterns.

Bifidus

-- Helps repopulate the large intestine with friendly bacteria
-- Creates a favorable environment for the growth of "good bacteria" that keeps the large intestine healthy

Would you believe I still haven't gone to the doctor? Actually, I guess its not hard to believe, seeing as I did it Saturday night, the doctor's office was closed Sunday, as well as Monday. But I got a doctor's appointment today at 3:15 p.m. Maybe they can give me a figure on how long I'll be outta work. It's still hurting, and I'm kinda hopping around on one foot (I hate crutches!)

Well I was watching Pulp Fiction last night and I was thinking about all of these restaurants that I would go to if I ever went to LA (which would probably be never, but who knows). But I was wondering if you had ever been to any of these places that I've heard about in movies?

1) Have you ever been to Big Kahuna or had a Big Kahuna burger before? (It's from Pulp Fiction)
2) Have you ever been to Jack Rabbit Slim's? (Again from Pulp Fiction)
3) Have you ever been to or had an In & Out burger before? (From The Big Lebowski)

I know these are probably very stupid and irrelevant questions and I'm sorry but I've been at work almost 2 hours and the highlight of my day so far has been people posting on this board this early in the morning lol

I don't think #1 and #2 really exist, and if they do, I haven't been. However, I can definitely say In & Out Burger is the best burger you'll EVER have. Don't miss it if you ever come to California. wink
