Jesus Christ he lived forever. With Jimmy Caci dead too, and his brother Carmen, will anyone else step up? Families with 5-10 made guys that have a boss die these days usually see someone step up to the boss role. But here I don't know. Who is even left?

This is what's left as far as I know...

1. Louis "Little Louie" Caruso (lives in Phoenix)
2. Steve "The Whale" Cino
3. Michael "Porno Mike" Esposito
4. Thomaso "Tommy" Gambino
5. Russell "Rusy" Massetta (married to Pete Milano's sister, now lives in Cleveland)
6. Paulo "Paulie Tattoos" Rossi
7. John "Johnny V" Vaccaro (lives in Las Vegas)
8. Rocco "Rocky Bigfoot" Zangari (moved back to Buffalo)

Possible Members:
Leonardo "Limping Lenny" Montana
Michael "Sports Bar Mike" Russo
James Testa (may have been made but maybe not in LA family)

Tommaso "Tommy" Gambino is the only man that can take the reigns. There isn't really much left to take, though.

I agree with Ted, Gambino will take the reigns and have the Gambino's running L.A in no time they already do so this will just close it off for that Family.

Question: what family would whomever runs LA be affiliated with? I'm assuming one of the New York ones, but which one?

Probably the Gambinos. Tommy is John Gambinos' nephew.

I don't know of right now, but in recent years Gambino, Esposito, Rossi, Montana and Russo have been active to a certain degree. Mostly just loan sharking. Never heard anything about Cino since he got out of prison.

I read Tommy Gambino's younger brother Anthony married a Buscemi who is the daughter of one of the big shots of the Passo di Ragano-Boccadifalco mandamento back in sicily. No doubt out of the names on the list of members of the Los Angeles family Gambino is the most connected.

According to Kenji Gallo's old blog Anthony was part of Tommy Gambino's crew in LA. But i don't think Anthony was made in LA. I read he was made in sicily.

No he isn't. While it's true that Tommy Gambino (Carlo's son) lives in California now, neither his nor his brother Joe's kids have anything to do with the life.

Yes Carlo's son Thomas lives in Beverly Hills from what i've read and is retired. Amazing his sons never got involved. Their one grandfather was Carlo Gambino and i believe their other grandfather was Tommy Lucchese. Talk about mob royality.

The Tommy Gambino in the LA crime family is the son of Rosario Gambino of the heroin dealing Cherry Hill Gambino's. I believe he's in his late 30's or early 40's now. His 2 Uncles are Giovanni "John" Gambino and Giuseppe "Joe" Gambino.

Good intel, Giancarlo smile.

I can see how someone might jump to the conclusion about Tommy being Carlo's grandson, but that's how Internet rumors begin. And before you know it, people take it as a fact.

And let's be honest, Carlo's sons (Joe and Tommy) were barely in the life themselves (even though Tommy made it all the way to skipper). Their bread and butter was always trucking and the rag trade. They were well educated and raised their own children likewise.

I heard Tommy G thinks he's a big shot so he'd probably love to take he title. He is the only made guy whose really active. A couple years ago they busted an ecstasy ring in San Diego that authorities believe he financed. He wasn't charged, though.

The family certainly is defunct. And was long before Milano died. I'm talking about a viable organization with a formal structure and ongoing activity. I was just listing the individual members still alive. Some aren't active. Others don't even live in LA anymore.

Other families from around the country really don't have a presence there anymore.

I remember reading that too Ted. Derek Galanis had a huge ecstasy lab going and they suspected Gambino might of been financing it. I think it was around 10 years ago.

Right you are. They used this one infamous freelance chemist whose known as Strike on the net. He wrote books on how to make that stuff under the name Strike then under his real name Hobart Huson he owned a science chemical supply house in texas. They unmasked him right on Dateline NBC. It was funny as all hell. He got 8 or 9 years in prison for supplying chemicals to several different ectasy labs in california and arizona including the one Galanis was running that the feds suspected Gambino was financing.

If a crime group is small, and content with their yearly earnings, then there's no need to make into a "family" like the New York five.

DeMeo I would rather be in those smaller families as long as I was making money. It's perfect make a ton a cash and have little heat on you.

Absolutely, but the majority here stupidly think that the bigger families are the only ones worth anything.

I won't name any names, but aside from me and you, they cream themselves at the latest bust or rat coming out of the closet.

DeMeo it is nice to find someone like me on this thing. I thought this site was for people who like the LCN not a bunch of wannabe feds. There are also people here that beleive there is no mob action anymore either than New York. Everytime I mention someone might be part of a family I have someone down my throught saying it is defunct. Do people really think there is no mobsters left either than New York. Because I know my city still has lots of them.
