Throggsneck has always been an 'okay' area. Until you hit the housing projects of course. The poster that described it as being similar to Howard Beach is right on. A pretty accurate comparison. One thing, like Howard Beach, the residents have that automatic suspicion of anyone they don't recognize who doesn't live in the area. Or at least they used to. Maybe they mellowed since then...

As far as Throggs Neckers go, we don't count the Randall-Balcom housing projects because they're so far off the beaten path. Their closest neighbors are interred at Saint Raymonds Cemetery
