I also have Firefox which, as far as format, I don't mind. However, I can never keep a connection with it. I was using it all the time but found myself constantly losing connection, and having to re-connect via troubleshooter which said I lost connection with the data point or something. I called my cable company and via telephone they tweeked here and there. I don't have the problem with IE so I went back to IE. Don't know if it's my internet company (RoadRunner/Time Warner) but IE works better so that's what I'll use. TIS

Anyone here have more than casual info about the DNS Changer malware set to infect on Monday? Oli, I just became aware of this DNS Changer. I used this very quick, no downloading. Just click the first URL, where it says "English" and you'll get an immediate result. http://www.dcwg.org/detect/Also, here's a couple more links. I only went with the one above and have not used these: http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2011/november/malware_110911http://www.dcwg.org/TIS

I'm running Windows 8 on one of my notebooks, and I don't know if people are going to like the new "Metro UI" which replaces Aero. This might be a hit on tablets, but a big fail on desktops and notebooks. Yea, from what I have seen of Metro UI, I have zero interest. I feel like I just got Windows 7 (even though I have had it for years), and I am very happy with it.

Yeah, I agree. I have "7" on 2 other systems, and it's been flawless since installation. I don't think I'll be updating them. Have you seen Windows new "Metro" smartphone OS interface? I dont particularly like that either. The style seems to be too "flashy" and full of close interaction with social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter automatically built-in. Overall, doesnt seem very user friendly to me. I guess I am used to the huge level of customization that Android offers. When Windows 7 came out, I was surprised that it looked great and worked awesome considering Microsoft products (I HATE Internet Explorer) till that had consistently dissapointed/were lackluster. It surprises me that a company as big as Microsoft usually strikes out with consumers when they come out with a new product.

I'm still trying to switch to Linux. Tired of Windows. And still waiting until the end of the year when the iPad Mini gets released. Took a computer science course my freshman year of college where we learned Linux. I didnt particularly like it back then (wasnt as user-friendly/too techy at the time) as I was used to Windows and didnt care about using another OS. But I remember Linux did have its benefits over other operating systems. Now I am more interested in "techy" stuff like Linux, jailbreaking/rooting operating systems to install custom Roms as I recently installed Cyanogenmod 9 Ice Cream Sandwich for my HP Touchpad. I watched a video on youtube of a guy who showed step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

My tablets are rooted and I've installed custom Roms on them too. I hope to have a ported Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Rom on one by next week. As for Windows 8, I give it credit for 1 thing. It boots up ridiculously fast. I haven't timed it but I'd day under 20 seconds.

Nice, I havent rooted my Android phone yet since I like how it is now and it is still under a warranty I got for it so I dont want to void that. I have been reading the tech forums and developers plan to bring Jelly Bean over to my HP Touchpad in the future so that should be good. Did you know you can speed up your Windows 7 boot time by eliminating the Windows logo thing (GUI) during start-up? I did it and it can speed up your start-up anywhere from 4 to 8 seconds depending on the system. It is very easy to do. Here's the steps just in case: http://www.windows7hacker.com/index.php/...uring-start-up/

I am DEF going to stay with Windows 7... maybe I will upgrade when Windows 9/10 comes out lol Seriously, if Microsoft sticks with their plans to get rid of the old Windows UI completely and force Metro onto people desktops, they're gonna have an epic fail on their hands. The vast majority of people I've seen in various forums using Windows 8 can't stand it. If you haven't seen what this crap looks like, here it is:
