The Nationals are loaded with some of the best young talent in baseball, and it's finally ripened. I've watched these guys since they've been playing AA ball here in Harrisburg.

Actually, this franchise has produced the most talent in baseball in the past 20 years. It was only because the Expos couldn't pay the salaries that they couldn't compete, and when MLB owned them, the league was more interested in treating the Expos as a minor league team, whose players were available to the highest bidder. But Washington has made the most of their recent picks, and should be competitive for quite a while.

I should add that Ian Desmond is the next Jeter.
