I joined a golf league. We play 9 holes, tee time is 5pm on Thursday. I can't wait to sweat my golf balls off tomorrow. Maybe there will be an ocean breeze. Even 5 miles away will make a difference. Like you SC, I've grown un-fond of summer. Give me 40-70 degrees.

No air out there today. Gonna be worse tomorrow.

It's 10:00 a.m. here and already 90° (32°C).

Actually it's quite nice here this week with temps in the mid 80s, which is perfect for me.

I am going with my daughter, SIL/grandkids to somewhat of a mini Disneyland wannabe in our area called Castle Park. It's nice for younger kids with rides/games, etc. It's a beautiful day to walk around and eat junk food.

I am dreading the thought that I might actually have to briefly go out later. Will do all I can to avoid it, but it might be necessary. Yuk.

I don't do nearly as well in extreme heat as I used to when I was younger. I was thinking of declaring this a personal "clothing optional" day, but I don't think the neighbors (not to mention the local police) would appreciate it.

We're heading for triple digits this weekend.

It's currently 98° (36.6°C) but it feels cooler than yesterday! Thankfully this is supposed to last only one more day. I bought a high volume fan for my living room (it will be delivered tomorrow) ... it was 90°+ inside there today. My cat actually spends half her day there in the kitchen window and then comes into the bedroom for a short time to cool off.

I didn't realize you got a new cat, SC. How old is she?

She's a 4 year old.... I got her two years ago from a local shelter.

After 3 days in a row of sunny hot 95+ degrees here, we were told last night that a cool front was on its way today. It is sunny hot and 85 degrees today... pass me the parka!!! BRRRR!

Ha ha!! Lurgy is just kid slang for anything that makes you poorly! Any bug, cold, viral infection just becomes the lurgy

Some BIG thunderstorms just went through..... HEAVY rain with lots of thunder/lightning. The temperature dropped 25 degrees within 10 minutes!!

I'm sure the temps will rise again once the storms are completely through but the back of the heatwave has been broken!

Geoff may be floating away.... his area had received 5 inches of rain within two hours (and it's still raining heavily).

It's finally eased up where I am, tho it's still coming down a bit south. Thankfully, since I'm off to the (ironic) Trenton Thunder (Double-AA Yankees) game!

It always pours with rain in England at this time of year! In the space of a fortnight we have Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, Glastonbury(which isn't on this year) and in Newcastle here our annual town fair!!

Always ends in 2 weeks of monsoon rains and everything a wash out n a sea of mud

Perfect weather here too.

Yesterday my son had a baseball tournament at Gettysburg College, which is almost an hour away from my home. He had three hours between games and the weather was extremely nice, so we had a quick lunch and went to the battlefield. There is actually an "auto tour" where you can drive around the field and stop at various monuments and such. We parked the car and while overhearing a tour guide telling a group of tourists how the South first approached Gettysburg from the hill behind us, my son and I got the same idea. We went to the hill and sprinted down the field. Of course, I finally caught up to him when he was almost a mile from our starting point. I was gassed and thought I was about to be the last casualty of the war..

Holy Wet Doodyballs ..... IT'S POURING HERE.

Lots of rain and thunder..... supposed to last for a few hours.

A wet doodyball is not fun. I'm anxiously awaiting the raindrops. Getting dark. Can't wait.
