Read the indictment. It names them all as associates, with Deprata reporting to a NY soldier. Also gives a little history of Gambino interests in Connecticut.
From what I can tell, only those 5 guys at the top of the indictment are specified as "associates of the Gambino Family of La Cosa Nostra."
But that's where we get back to how one defines an associate. The looser the definition, the others could be labeled such as well.
