Okay - they just had the director of the Illinois Lottery on WGN radio. He gave some round figures on this... Based upon the current $540 million jackpot, if you take a lump sum you will win around $389 million. If you get a smart tax lawyer/accountant (sound professional advice) you will end up with about $277 million after taxes. The odds of winning are 176 million to one!
