30F degrees (-1C) here this morning. Winter has finally arrived ohwell .

Another little division between the US and this side of the Atlantic is that we tend nowadays to use the Celsius scale to measure temperature and you use the Fahrenheit scale....useless observation!

In my area it got down to 37 the other night. Talk about freezing my ass off. I actually had to scrap ice from my car window. eek Gets to 60ish or so during the day though.

Nice pic Zia. I'm afraid decorations here aren't quite as elaborate. Btw, you don't do your Christmas shopping on Rodeo Drive do you? I've been in some of the stores there, and wow!! So elegant and expensive. I'm afraid to even touch anything. tongue Fun to look around though.

This time of year sucks. That is pretty cold TIS, we're just above 40 here right now. I'm just glad I'm not working my old shift patterns, sometimes I didn't even see daylight for three days.

Anyway, the 'jokers' at work thought they'd get their own back on me because I'm always singing and it is pretty much noise polution. So knowing I hate christmas they elected me when it was my day off from work to be part of the companies Christmas Carol group.

Not all of it... it all depends. I never do all my shopping on one place. I did most of it in Santa Monica, though; we've got great shopping on 3rd Street, Montana Ave., etc. They're more original and cute stuff. I did some of it on Rodeo, though, for my sisters, my mom, and 3 of my cousins. But for everyone, that'd be insanity!! It would cost upwards of like $200,000. Which, btw, I know people who spend that much and more on Christmas. Crazy!!!

Btw, Beverly Dr., which is on the next block up from Rodeo, has great shopping too, for much better prices; i.e. Club Monaco, Tag Rag, Enzo, Ann Taylor, Anthropologie, etc. wink

I've made it all the way down to 153 lbs. I lost 10 lbs in exactly a week. I still need to lose one more before tomorrow's match.

Let us know how you did. Have you ever had to wrestle a girl? My son had to when he wrestled for his other school.

How the hell did you manage that?!! Is that even healthy? Good goin', though... at least you get your goals accomplished.

I put on about 7 pounds when I was down with my leg injury... but I like it, I'd dropped down too much before. My weight constantly fluctuates within the same 10-pounds, but at one point, I went 5 more below that, and my hipbones and ribs were sticking out, which I think looks so ugly on a girl. So I think I'll keep the extras, at least until summer when my bikini gets the better of me. wink

There are very few things I hate about winter... one used to be that it was always so cold in the house, because my family NEVER puts on the heater. But I got used to that; now I dress warm in the house, too.

But the one thing I can't get used to, is that if I'm having a cup of coffee (which I do about 7-8 times a day) it gets as cold as milk right out of the fridge, before I even finish it! Like halfway through the cup, it starts getting warm, then about 3/4 through, it's totally cold!! I hate that. mad rolleyes

Well, ya gotta drink it faster!

I had to give up coffee (except now and then, after dinner, in a restaurant usually) cuz it screwed up my stomach after years of abuse (I'm talking like, a gallon/day!)

It never got cold for me tongue

Now, I drink tea cuz it's easier on my stomach. And if/when it gets cold... no problem... iced tea! tongue lol

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

How depressing... giving up coffee?! I should watch it, or else I'll have to do that too... by the time I'm your age (in like 5 years, right? wink ).

Tea is good, but boring. I can't have it more than once a week. frown

Me and my son was at the bus stop this morning. We were in the car talking and I seen the weirdest thing, I seen a dog walking down the road with a bloody deers leg in it's mouth.

That is unsual Mig, to say the least. About 10 years ago, I came home from work to find a blood trail down my street, including my driveway. Talk about totally freaked out. eek Come to find out, the guy down the street got pissed off at another neighbors talk and if you can believe this, got a bow and arrow and shot the dog. eek I didn't see it happen, but you can imagine the neighbors were all stunned.

Police came, and arrested the guy, but I don't know what eventually happened. I didn't know who this guy was, but the neighbors dubbed him "Robin Hood." lol

How can you guys go through so much coffee a day? I've tried drinking coffee and getting into it and I just hate the taste of it. Tea too. I'm an O.J. in the morning man. I don't like Apple Juice either. And yes, I know I'm a picky eater or in this case a picky drinker. grin

It's minus 17 out right now. Yep and I walked around for five minuets in a t-shirt and jeans while waiting for a ride. Next month for me may reach about minus 40. Why does Hawaii have to be so far away?

eek eek eek Wow.

Irish, strangely enough, I don't drink all that coffee because I NEED it... well I NEED at least one cup a day or else I get a headache... but as for the rest, I just like the taste of coffee. I make a full pot of it in the morning, and I drink it all day... and in between cups of regular coffee, I usually have an espresso in the afternoon with my mom. wink

Orange juice in the morning?! After you brush your teeth, or before? If it's after, orange juice is so nasty when it mixes with taste of toothpaste in your mouth... EW.

tongue Geez, deep thoughts today, huh?

It's well below freezing here in Michigan today. I'm sure you probably remember TIS some Michigan winters too and how cold they can get. We already got 3 inches of snow so far. Michigan is known for its weird weather. We have the most bizzare weather in all of the USA in my opinion. It will snow in the spring and be 50 degrees in January some times. This place is so weird, but indeed, cold.

Don Ferro,

I remember Michigan weather very well. eek Unpredictable is the best way to describe it. Why, years ago I remember waking up for school, in May....guess what? Snow on the ground. eek
Or, planning 4th of July picnics at Lake Michigan, and it's freezing out. ha ha. We have old movie films of everyone wrapped up in blankets it was so cold.

Btw, where in Michigan are you? I forgot. ohwell

Turi, don't know what you are writing, but put it out of your mind for a bit. When you least expect it, it'll come to you. wink

Well that's why I came on the BB flipping between my word document and the escapism of the net. I'd probably have hurt someone by now if it wasn't for the helicopter game. Yeah hopefully it'll come. It's an interesting piece I'm doing and something EVERYONE has an opinion on - evaluating the use of performance appraisals.

I also need to find a credible source backing up my point that there's been an increase in non managerial staff recieving appraisals. I got one in 1986 but nothing recent.

Actually this isn't interesting.

I've stood in dog crap for three consecutive days walking from school. The next time I see a dog having a crap I'm going to hover about to see if the owner cleans it up. If he or she doesn't, I'm going to calmly walk over to them and fracture their jaw in five places. Then I'll do the same to the dog.
