Bogey, you are not alone. We didn't get any snow either. eek eek Whoa, that was a big shocker... I should have given some warning that I was gonna say something like that. lol But anyway, everytime you're bummed that you don't have any snow yet, just remember that you have a pal in L.A. who has never seen it snow before. Well, I've seen snow, once it's already on the ground, like in the mountains or whatever (and part of it was man-made). But I've never actually seen it come down. frown I hear it's beautiful, though. I hope to see it one day.

Zia,

Believe it or not it has snowed in my area before. Nothing that stayed on the ground, but big flakes were coming down. eek You should have seen all the students at my school, as well as the staff, get all excited and go by the door. lol The kids just wanted to stand in it outside at lunch. lol I was the only one I think that wasn't in the least excited. I guess if you've lived in it as many years as I did, the thrill is gone.....believe me. tongue

Btw, after the 24 years in California, I have never had any desire to go to the mountains in the winter, or snow skiing...anywhere near snow.

grin I've only been to the snow a few times. I went skiing a couple of times, and snowboarding a few more times, and that was it. I don't like it; it's too cold, even with like 11 layers of clothing, and gloves and boots and everything. It's pretty, though, and I do hope I get to see the snow fall one day; not in L.A., though.... God forbid!! I'll go somewhere else and look at it for a little while, and that way they can keep it after I see it. lol

I don't know what's so great about snowboarding... it's fun, but it's just like surfing, except surfing is more fun, and nowhere near as cold. I do want one white Christmas, though. That'd be pretty. Although there's nothing like L.A. for Christmas. Palm trees swaying in the wind (or rain) instead of pine trees, busy streets, but people in a good mood, decorated store windows (especially Neiman Marcus... that's great every year!), the whole bit.

BTW, speaking of store window decorations, street decorations are always so cool... and this year, on the 3 main blocks of Rodeo Drive, they've got crystal chandeliers instead of street lamps, in the middle grassy area. We're not talking your normal, typical chandeliers, these are Baccarat!! Apparently, since it's Baccarat's 240th anniversary this year, they're featuring 20 crystal chandeliers (over $1 million worth!!) on those three blocks, until right after New Year's. It looks absolutely gorgeous!

It's funny, I saw these on Sunday, and that night, I heard a Lexus commercial on the radio, listing all these luxurious, unattainable and ridiculous things, the point being that a Lexus is just as luxurious, but not as ridiculously unattainable. And one of these quotes in the commercial was: "Wouldn't it be nice if we had crystal chandeliers for street lamps?" and I thought it was so funny that now there ARE. Nothing is too ridiculous for Beverly Hills, I tell ya. Nothing is ever too much. Crazy world we live in, isn't it?

Anyway, if I find a picture of the street online, I'll post it. But I don't think there'll be pictures yet... maybe after the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons' tree lighting ceremony. I think that's next week.

Awwwwwwwwwww. You definately need to see it. I kind of take it for granted now, because it's a yearly thing. We need to get a convention somewhere where it snows, but not so bad that we'll get snowed-in... like Pittsburgh for example...... wink

I listened to Prince's 'Get Off' yesterday and wondered regarding the line "23 positions in a one night stand" what the other 21 positions were.

So far I've got on top AND underneath.

I'm sure I'm not the only person that does this.

Right, November starts and some people go crazy with their Xmas shopping and that. Others stock up their beer for Xmas. Well I stock up the beer supply. And every year it runs out before December even begins. So now I've got go through the whole process again buying double amount of crates.

Kris, if that was a serious question, here's the answer: a pepperoni's a sausage, a pepperoncini's a pickled pepper (light green).

Well Geoff, it's about freekin' time. tongue I've got a few more too.

You know what you guys??? You know how I spent two days cooking for Thanksgiving??? Well, the bad news is, I got everyone sick. frown I did everything I was suppose to do, but I think I had a bad turkey. For two days now my two sons-in-law my daughter and myself have been sick. It must have been the turkey. I gave everyone leftovers and we all munched I them yesterday before we concluded it must have been the turkey.

I was so careful not to leave out of the frig to thaw, made sure it was cooked properly, etc. and now......I just threw it all away. frown

So much for my pigging out. I'm feeling a little better now, but wasn't worth much yesterday or this morning.

That's terrible, TIS! frown

So, whenever I make it out there to the Left Coast, we're going OUT to eat, right? lol

That reminds me about the food poisoning I got one time - it was awful! A few of us drove down to Washington DC for some event, and the night before splurged on steamed lobster dinners. It was great, but, the middle of that night, in bed, I was wrenched in excrutiating stomach pain! frown Needless to say, I missed most of the event the next day... argh! ohwell
