I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

As you know, of course, the important thing is how it sounds. A guitar can cost a ridiculous amount of money, but if it sounds bad? Just a waste of money, IMO. But, these days, I know there are more "budget" instruments made in places like the far east that actually sound more than respectable.

My favorite example is my friend Peter, an astounding acoustic guitar player who plays an instrument that looks like it was recently rescued from a garbage dump. He explained that years ago, he acquired the guitar and immediately took it to the best instrument repairman around. (Everyone else had told him that the guitar wasn't worth saving, couldn't be saved, and would be better if used for firewood.) Well, that fellow did an amazing job of salvaging the guitar, repairing it and improving the interior so that the sound is as good or better than many expensive instruments. It certainly sounds better than my Guild, that's for sure. (Of course, the fact that he's been playing for over 50 years just might have something to do with it... lol )
