"Throw away Glock" as Tupac would rap. Also 'The Sopranos' gave this to be true, though more often than not probably a Saturday-Nigh special .38 Snub

definitely a .22, preferably silenced. A .22 will do the most damage at close rang because there will be no exit wound, the bullet will fragment and do the most damage to the brain. 2 behind the ear and you can't lose.

Depends on the circumstance. If the hit man can get very close to the victim, a .22 revolver is the best. It's not a self-defense weapon (not enough stopping power). But it's small, concealable, relatively quiet and doesn't eject spent rounds. If the shooter can get close enough to put several rounds in the victim's brain, it's perfect. You saw Joe Pesci do this to a woman in "Casino."
But, for general protection against other mobsters, and to threaten them, they need a bigger, higher caliber gun.

A nail gun. You can just nail people with it really easy. Lethal Weapon 2?

Lenny Strollo in Pittsburgh had a guy sniped. The victim there was Joey Naples, one of the two made guys (the other being Lenine Strollo) who controlled Youngstown. I'm told (but I can't confirm) that his killing was actually ordered by Michael Genovese for refusing to kick up, not Strollo as is commonly believed, with the actual shooting said to have been done by Robert Poghen. The sniper picked off Naples while he was overseeing work on a new mansion out in the woods in Pennsylvania that he was having built with his ill-gotten gains.

Damn Ivan, you know your Pittsburgh shit. Thanks for the info.
In anyways a hunting rifle may be the best thing to do hits with; great distance between shooter and target, you can get a positive ID on the target if you're using a scope and the hit can be done in a wide array of options.
