As an aside, one thing thats always amused me is the irony in so many rappers taking on Gotti's name, who was a virulent racist in reality. He's probably turning in his grave. As if his grandkids weren't bad enough.
ha! I've always found that kind of funny too. Racist or not I don't even think it matters to the rappers; they've have been fetishizing mobsters forever. For example the "G" in Kool G. Rap (an old 80s rapper) stands for Giancana. Mobsters represent the American Dream to rappers - being your own man (being a "boss"), bootstrapping yourself out of the neighborhood, making money, doing whatever the fuck you want, etc... there's even a wikipedia article on "Mafioso Rap" haha
