I was very fortunate with my in-laws. My Ex was also Italian and his parents were good friends with my parents (my parents were in his parents wedding, they were that close). Both old fashioned Italians that really were much like my own parents.
They have been deceased now for a long time but I will always remember them as wonderful loving people.
