I just saw this yesterday, good film Gosling is superb as "the strong silent type", loved the retro feel to it, and the soundtrack, certainly it is rare to see films like this made today. Despite it being its first day release the theatre was half empty, everyone was watching Hugh Jackman train fighting robots which tells you all you need to know about Hollywood today and people in general.
The issues I had with the film was I though the graphic violence at times bordered on ridiculous, and the film seemed to end rather suddenly.


Yeah, the theater was mostly empty when I saw it too. Meanwhile, like you said, everyone else is watching rock 'em, sock 'em robots.

I don't think the graphic violence was ridiculous. Simply realistic. The director didn't pull any punches.


Mods should mind their own business and leave poster's profile signatures alone.
