Exactly, then you are well aware of what I'm talking about. I was speaking to MeatBall who is still trying to talk about what carabinieri role in Italy play from the first video, when it wasn't even carabinieri in that video. But I digress, back to this here:
More than likely Roma gypsy have no citizenship. They would slice your throat and rob you blind as soon as look at you. You really should know all this, but anyway... they are all over the beaches with their tents, no place to live, no permanent residence, and making trouble and scamming people is their livelihood. They stand outside the airports waiting to scam people that don't know any better and steal your wallet, they will throw a doll at you, pretend it's a real baby and then rob you (I've personally seen this one). Italy doesn't take too kindly to immigrants (have you seen Lampedusa lately?), there is no sympathy or sleep lost for any injured or dead gypsies in Italy. So one got caught up in the crossfire of a mafia shootout. Big deal. Life goes on as you can clearly see in the video. [/quote]
Yeah, heard all that before I came here and Italians keep telling me the same type thing.....other than seeing gypsies sitting on sidewalks/in the metro/church entrances and begging for change I've yet to see any of the other stuff. Haven't been to Naples yet but have been to plenty of other locations in Italy....have yet to see the big gypsy problem. As far as I'm concerned it's worse in the states. Couldn't gas up, walk outta walmart without getting hit up six times for $$. I even had assholes knock on my door. Anyways, there's tens of thousands of Roma who are Italian citizens, thousands of others carry passports. I'm sure there's some here illegaly. There are Roma who live within mainstream society....live in houses, send their kids to school, hold down jobs etc etc. See no reasoning in your post to justify blowing someone away while walking down the street.
Alot of that crap sounds real familiar to things said about Italians in the states a hundred years or so ago.
