First of all let me say I am a late viewer of Two & Half Men. I have only seen the last two seasons and I think it's hilarious. Kind of risque' at times but funny. I think the whole cast is great. So perhaps that's partially why I am willing to see where this goes. Another thing is I don't really hate Ashton Kutcher (like many seem to). I think perhaps other than seeing only a couple episodes of the 70 Show, I've maybe seen him in one or two comedy movies. I think he is in his element in comedy but the fact that the main character is totally changing could be challenging to the show. Then again, maybe it'll refresh the show. All that being said, and a sidenote, both my daughters want to watch the show because they say Kutcher is hot. I'm thinking perhaps he might be a draw for female audiences anyway. TIS

In case anyone's interested, tonight's the season 9 premiere of "Two and a Half Men." So use this thread to either praise Ashton Kutcher, or rip him apart. Because I know Jon Cryer will be on his game. Charlie dies?!?! But he was on TV just last night! And he looked sober too. (Well sober for his standards.)

SPOILER ALERTI wasn't too surprised at how irreverent the funeral was, yet it was kind of cold. I recognized Jenny McCarthy as one of his old girlfriends at the funeral (the girlfriends got kind of raunchy shouting out what diseases they got from Charlie.) Then again the show always has been kind of raunchy. Kutcher's appearance by the door causing Alan to drop Charlie's ashes all over was quite funny. So was his exchange with Alan telling him he was gonna drown himself but the water was too cold. I laughed quite a few times actually, and think Kutcher's character "may" work although I don't know for how many more seasons. I think perhaps there is chemistry between Cryer's character and Kutcher. But PB, I'm disappointed in you. You totally left out the part where Kutcher strips down to nothing and walks around the house . He walks to the kitchen in the buff the next morning and Berta only as she could do, says she approves. Oh, and when Alan's wife knocked on the door with Jake and sees a naked Kutcher hugging Alan, her remark was only that "I like him." I may be old but not dead. They guy does have a nice body. (but who's looking?) TIS

SPOILER ALERTLOL, Yea and isn't it typical for poor Allen, to bring two girls home hoping to get lucky, and Walden ends up getting lucky with both of them? Btw, I do hope they get rid of the Rose character. I know I am probably alone here, but I never liked that character. She's annoying and simply not funny IMHO. Plus, she never seemed like the personality type that Charlie would go for, drunk or sober. TIS

The ratings are in, and it looks like Chuck Lorre is the guy who's "winning" after all.
'Two and a Half Men' ratings huge! Ashton Kutcher debut delivers series high
by James Hibberd, Entertainment Weekly
Two and a Half Men premiere ratings are in. And they’re jaw dropping. Stunningly huge.
The ninth season premiere Monday night starring Ashton Kutcher taking over for Charlie Sheen delivered 27.7 million viewers — that’s in the ballpark of an American Idol premiere.
Even more impressive: The sitcom scored a 10.3 rating among adults 18-49. That’s easily an all-time high for the show, and up 110 percent over last fall’s eighth season debut with Sheen. Everybody expected the sitcom’s first new episode back would perform strong, but not like this.
CBS’ entire comedy lineup was strong, with the night opening with back-to-back episodes of How I Met Your Mother (11.3 million, 4.7 and 12.2 million, 5.1, respectively), that were much higher than last fall’s premiere. Following Men, new comedy 2 Broke Girls did a giant 19.1 million viewers and a 7.0 rating — down, as one would expect, from its giant lead-in, but still likely to dwarf any other new scripted series debut this fall. The only CBS show that didn’t seem to much benefit from the Men surge was Hawaii Five-0 (12 million, 3.4) at 10 p.m., which was down 13 percent from last fall, yet still won the 10 p.m. hour. Over on NBC, another much buzzed about premiere had a very different fate: The Playboy Club bombed out at 10 p.m., drawing only 5 million viewers and a 1.6 rating. Its two-hour lead-in, the first fall edition of The Sing Off (5.2 million, 1.9), performed weakly.
CBS also crushed the premiere of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars (18.6 million, 3.9). Though ABC held up better than any other CBS rival, the two-hour premiere was down a sharp 24 percent from last fall’s edition. Good news at 10 p.m., though: The return of Castle (13.6 million, 3.3) was up 22 percent from last year.
Much more to come, including ratings for other Monday night premieres, refresh for latest

I'm kind of surprised only because reading viewers comments (yahoo), and they took calls on the radio today in which many said they hated the show. HOWEVER, I have noticed most who hated the show also hate Kutcher. I don't know alot about Kutcher and I am not certain where the hate comes from but it's there. Anyway, I am probably the only here that watches Hawaii Five- O and I love it. The beautiful backdrop makes every shot look like a postcard. For a recycled show I am surprisingly pleased and was looking forward to the season premier last night (missed the Charlie Sheen Roast which was on at the same time as Hawaii Five-O). Ok, back on topic. TIS PB, is that the entire episode you posted? Surprised they post it so soon.

The beautiful backdrop makes every shot look like a postcard. I feel the same way about "Burn Notice." The plots are thin, the acting suspect, and the overall theme is cheesy. But the South Florida scenery makes you forget all about that.

Part 2 of the premiere wasn't nearly as funny as part 1. Kutcher was fine, but the whole dynamic of the show seems to be gone for good. Decide for yourselves: http://www.cbs.com/shows/two_and_a_half_men/

I liked Charlie a lot better I do not like Ashton's character, but I will give it a try in the future before I totally judge it and write it off.

Sorry Pizzaboy...Get your glasses checked- lol Demi is still one hot lady. Young guys half her age should be so lucky to catch a lady like her.
You're confusing "catch" as in we're only talking about sex and "hot" appeal. In that regard, you would be ri But maybe Ashton (allegedly) left her because she's a bitch, or he's a douchebag?
