I made nostalgic visits to my old neighborhoods in Brownsville and East New York in '97, '98 and 2000. Some of the areas looked like East Berlin after WWII.
The same is true of parts of Larimer Ave. area in Pittsburgh where I grew up. I was back there in August and there's whole blocks that look like that.
