As I mentioned in another thread, despite the underlying theme of the article, the details therein don't really support it.

First, a good clue is that much of the article deals with the past...the distant past.

Second, as far as anything more recent, you have the big GameTax bust back in 1996. But even that was now 15 years ago. And a smaller gambling bust in 2006.

Third, how direct the present day LCN connection to the Jarjosa and Bianchette murders or the Manzi/Karam game fixing bust is questionable.

Fourth, back in 1996, the feds had the family at 30 members at most. But even assuming it was 35, and also not taking into account any members that have died since then, it's very hard to believe they would be able to make 10-15 guys in recent years in order to reach 40-50. And that is based on anecdotal rumors about a couple recent ceremonies.

Bottom line, when the article reads the Detroit mob "doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon," something isn't right. It's slowed down big time.
