I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this was a very very very well planned suicide. Yeah, I knew a guy in the Bronx, shot himself in the back of the head. Twice. Then jumped into the trunk of his car and pulled the lid shut. Breaks your heart.

I don't know who killed him, but whoever did it, I don't think it was the first time they murdered someone, because it is not easy to get away with a murder in that area with the layout of the streets. I agree Gerry - this was a calculated hit that was executed very well, with the desired result. 15 slugs! Only Fat Pete Chiodo could survive something like that. No doubt the Feds are pushing the "Locked Up Ligambi's" to spill their guts, if they know anything. It is interesting to me that the perception of Ligambi and his leadership was the "threat" or "perceived threat" of violence. Generally speaking, to succeed in that life and business, you have to follow through on the threat every now and again. I wonder if this is one of those situations. Does anyone know if there was bad blood between Harry the Hunchback and the Ligambi leadership of LCN? If they were trying to extort and he was resisting, it sounds an awful lot like what happened when Little Nicky was running things.

There have been three other murders under Ligambi's leadership not including this one, if he is involved. You can say Ligambi is less prone to violence, if you're comparing him to guys like Scarfo and Merlino.

I think martorano was killed by the Philly LCN, and lean toward the Manasaclco hit being LCN also. Rocco was playing defense - it did not sound like he was out looking to get some himself. Does anyone know if Rocco had any muscle to help with his collections?
He should have struck a deal with with LCN and he would likely have gotten paid by the dope dealers on the $60k. And had his life.

I thought this was Harry the Hunchback's nephew?!?!?!?
Hence my assertion that this was LCN related, in addition to his book.

I think this murder gets to much hype because he was and italian who took wagers and Knew some shady people there are so many murders in Philly and Camden(no.1 in US in 2005-07 now st. louis has the honour) that this could have been done for so many reasons by so many others Maybe it was That Fatass PCP head Reds Rivera or rocco looked at some homeboy the wrong way. Or maybe it was a Bobby baccala situation U comin out the bookie then u either a winner or a loser i have kids!shootem bang except it kills him instead of richochet,.

This was a plan hit for sure. I know this street (Wolf) well. I wouldnt be surprised if somebody was on a roof top shooting at him (especially since he was struck all over his body). Its almost impossible to perform a hit in this location. The street as no quick get away access by car. Goin up wolf street you have to pass about 6 stop signs and then got a light on broad street to gtfo of the place. Your gonna face pretty much face the same distance If you turn down any one of the side streets especially since most of them are very small side streets which are not easy to speed through. I said something similar to this on another thread about this murder. I know the area well, and it is difficult to get away with a murder in that area, because of how narrow the streets are, number of news bags always out, etc. It is even difficult to get a parking spot in that neighborhood that time of the night, this was a well planned murder done by people who knew what they were doing.
