The Sahara Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is closing after 59 years. This was where the Rat Pack played in the golden years along with later, Elvis & The Beatles and a long list of talented people.

It "is" very old and dated and for my taste not quite central enough to be around the other casinos. I'm not surprised it's closing but it is kind of sad. Everything is new and modern in Vegas. I just hope they don't get rid of The Flamingo. I like that they are keeping that more or less original. They've refurbished it, but it still is older.

I stayed at the Sahara a few times. One time in particular back in the 80's, I'll NEVER forget the time pushed the elevator button to go to my room and who comes out???? A naked man! eek I kid you not. I'll never forget it.
