The CIA has (well, at least attempted to) do this for years (but they're utterly incompetent apparently). But I don't know who these "lot" of people are you're referring to... please enlighten us!
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol
