He was good in plugging up that slot after the Dan Rather-Dubya reporting fiasco , and maybe one of the last of the old guard from back when news was about news and not morons giving off their worthless ideological pornographic-drabble as "news" on cable primetime.
I'd be all for it. He's an old pro. And that's exactly why he won't get it.
