I still write an occasional check. Usually when paying for something for one of my kids (school expenses, etc.). That said, I doubt the written check will ever become competely obsolete. I hope it doesn't, anyway.

Supermarkets in general drive me nuts. We've all had that lady in front of us who takes ten minutes to pull out her checkbook after bagging all of 8 dollars worth of groceries. It's maddening.

But nothing---and I mean nothing---gets under my skin like the lazy people who use the motorized handicapped carts and don't really need them. I was up in Yonkers a year or so ago and had a fat guy almost run me down with one of those things in a Stop and Shop. I kept my temper in check until I got out to the parking lot and saw the same fat bastard walking better than I do! My wife had to stop me from running the guy over with my car. It still makes me angry when I think of it mad.
