Don Geoff, you have my every loyalty.... but SC is correct on this one. tongue

The primary meaning of "affect" when used as a verb is "to influence" or "have an influence on". This is what one would use when discussing the moon and the earth's gravity. The moon has an influence on the earth's gravity and the tides. Her short skirt affected his thoughts. His body odor affected his chances of promotion. And so on.. whistle

The primary meaning of "effect" when used as a verb is "to create" or "bring about". The new President effected more change than some thought possible. Lilo's work effected a rise in the stock price of his company. lol

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
Winter is Coming

Now this is the Law of the Jungleā€”as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.
