Many people have written current charts on KC that were false because most of the members they added were only assocites of this mafia family. 70 soldiers? You gotta be kidding.. If you look closely, that's a listing of members both living and passed away. Only about a dozen of those on that list are said to still be living, which is believable. Incidentally, while I know Scott D has written a couple books on the Tampa family, as well as a few others, I wasn't aware he had done any research on the KC family or had posted a chart on the forum. There have been KC charts floating around for a long time, some with more than 40 names, but I'm not sure how well researched they were. Like he said, probably a lot of associates misidentified as members and others who had passed away cited as still living.
Mods should mind their own business and leave poster's profile signatures alone.

I've always wondered how Willie the Rat Cammisano got his nickname. Various sources believe that Cammisano got his nickname "because he killed people and stuck them in the sewers so the rats could eat them." However, an adamant Willie Cammisano always contended the actual nickname was "Willie Rats," which was a nickname that he had earned as a child when he taught his dog to rid houses of rats and other vermin.

You cant call this a chart, sure the names you listed are of Kansas City mob guys most of them have been dead for 40 years. Duardi jr died in December of this year. You dont have Thomas "highway" Simone, listed he was Nick Civella's first underboss and the father of Anthoney, Max Jaben is missing. You dont have Chuck Cacioppo sr. he just passed in Dec also. You missed John Amaro murdered two house up from Nick Civella during the Spero War. Nick Labruzzo was never made, his brother Vito was, he was co-owner with Nick in the Chubby's stores. You missed Paul Silvio, Paul Varsalona, John and Frank Castanza, Anthony Cardarella, Felix Ferina, Jerry Cammisano, Joe Moretina Sr., Joe Mandacina, fuck I could go all day also according to trial testomony from his drug trial in the early 90's, Calia is not made they indicated he was an associate of John Glorioso. You dont have any of the Pisciotta's listed, nor the Termini's or the Suteras or Searings, Travalenta's. The Brocato's, David Bonadonna, If you want a true accounting of the KC family during the Civella era, the book just released Mobsters in our midst has been the most accurate book on the outfit in KC that I have ever read. It is pretty spot on. But if your going to make a chart covering 100 years then you are way way way short.
BTW Alex Presta was not made he worked with Civella on the political side, much like Capra and Fassino and Rizzo.

Whats he going to say "yeah I got the nick name because of how I get rid of bodies" LOL seriously, the KC Times (now defunct) gave him the Nickname in the early 60's when they titled an article "the rats got'em", a mob associate who had been informed on by a LE cooperator was killed because of the information he knew, the murder was atributed to Willie although he was never charged. The name morphed to "the rat" and remained till the day he died. On a side note, although a ruthless individual when need be, when I was a young boy Willie was always very nice to me and always treated my family well. whenever he would come into my Uncle Paul's store on Brooklyn. I were to write a book on the KC outfit it would be on Willie, he was certainly a man with two faces.

Barrett, I don't know too much about the Kansas City CN nor was i ever really interested in them until now. I started to read a couple of articles/reports online about that family and i gotta tell ya, it sparked my interest. Very low key and powerful family in their day. Anyway, since you bumped this thread, here's a pic of William Cammisano & his brother Joseph.

So KC has around 15 members left, they not making anyone? The KC mob doesnt exist as any functioning entity in any capacity. There may be made guys still alive, but there is no family functioning.
MORGAN: Why didn't you fight him at the park if you wanted to? I'm not goin' now, I'm eatin' my snack. CHUCKIE: Morgan, Let's go. MORGAN: I'm serious Chuckie, I ain't goin'. WILL: So don't go.

Pretty much this, and I swear there was an article a couple years ago about the remaining guys coming together agreeing to close up shop for good. NJ very cool photos. Willie Cammissano was one of the scariest SOBs in the american mob. A DeMeo in his own right, and you can take that to the bank. The "war" in the River Quay district in the 1970s wasn't so much about the Civellas wanting to open up vice in the new thriving district, but the Cammisanos. They had that much free rein. The most interesting thing to me about KC is how closely they were intertwined with politics. There is no city that better encapsulates the kind of bossism you see on Boardwalk Empire, complete with corrupt aldermen, vice rackets, paid off police, patronage, and shoddy elections. Of course, there was the ugly side of bossism, like letting the mob operating freely. But in the early 20th century there was no form of state welfare but patronage for the average voter, let alone an Irish or Italian immigrant. And if you wanted to open a business, men like Tom and Jim Pendergast could do a lot to cut through the red tape in exchange for a favor or a vote. That, along with the mob's dirty work on election days, is why bossism in KC endured. My grandpa who I never had the chance to meet had a trucking company in KC. He was violently anti-union and just one dude in general. But he lived full time in Nashville with my grandma who I also never met. His KC connection got me interested in the city so I just finished reading Mafia and the Machine and Mobsters in Our Midst. The first is more about the early years and the second is by William Ouseley, who launched the Strawman investigation. Both highly recommended for sure.
