Some wifey in California spent millions upon millions....and lost. Surely in troubled times she would be better off investing some of that sum into the economy in some other way?
She wasn't alone either.
Linda McMahon, the wife of WWE head, Vince McMahon, ran for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut. She spent $46 million of her own money in a losing bid to become one of 100 U.S. senators.
Apparently there was a lot of damage done to her efforts when her "shady" pro-wrestling background was concentrated on by her opponents.
