My cousins in Italy don't understand the hyphen either, Mumrekin. They're happy to tell me that I'm an American .

I guess it's because America is a nation of immigrants, and we don't want to lose our ethnicity altogether when we come here. Hence, the hyphen (Italian-Americans, African-Americans, Irish-Americans, etc.).

It's nice to see that everywhere I go on the internet, there are always Dutch people around. Just like we colonized many parts of the world in the 17th century, we now colonize the internet.

America is just huge, and the laws are different then in Europe. I have no problem calling myself a Dutch, i was born in the Netherlands, went to school. But i am also Turkish, 2 pasports etc. But its a different story here in the Netherlands.
