I heard earlier on MSMBC (and I think it's a good point), that many, if not most of the younger Republican generation would likely be all for the dropping of DADT. Unlike the older Republican generation, this group likely has gay/lesbian friends and just being of a modern generation would not feel the same as their elders in this regard. Of course Lady GaGa getting into the mix is probably a plus to the young crowd. IF that's the case, then it could be a plus for the Dems as far as the election in Nov. goes. Then again, turnout is very low in midterm election years AND young people don't usually vote.

The 18-24 demographic has extremely poor voter turnout. It drives me insane.

Personally, I'm fascinated by the turn the race for governor of NY has taken. You have Paladino, who upset the Republican primary and got the nomination unexpectedly, running against Andrew Cuomo. Paladino is a businessman and possibly quite mad. Cuomo is part of a political family (his father was governor years ago) and is part of the "Status Cuomo", as Paladino says.

I think it was the Paladino/Cuomo race that MSNBC played the latest political ads by both parties. Very personal attacks. I don't remember which one, but it showed the other with the face of a pig. Do you know which one I mean?

Paladino has admitted to sending racist and sexist email jokes. He says that he's sick of foolish government spending (although he's made millions as a government contractor) and he says that if he wins, he's going to take a baseball to Albany.

People, especially in NY, are sick and tired of the corruption, sick and tired of paying the highest taxes in the country, and sick of our dysfunctional legislature. They just might be sick and tired enough to elect a madman.

That's the ad SB!! That is really getting down and dirty isn't it?

A while back Carly Fiorina (R) who is running against Senator Barbara Boxer (D) was caught on tape criticizing Boxer's hair saying something like "that's so 70's" and giving an evil type laugh. It had to have been embarrassing for her.

And there's another one by the Meg Whitman for Governor (R) campaign saying how Jerry Brown (D) was still getting an allowance from his parents at 50 something. I don't know what that's about but it cracks me up.

Anyway, so far the one you posted is about the most personal attack I've seen.

Not that we don't our trashy ads here, but so far, I haven't seen one here that is even as bad as that one.

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is expected to announce that he is leaving his position with the Obama administration to run for mayor of Chicago.

That rumor has been swirling around, but no confirmation yet.

Supposedly sooner than later.

The other rumor floating around is that in 2012 Biden will become Sec of State and Hllary will be on the ticket.
