As far as Cloverfield, I think you watched further than I did. The idea of a "monster" taking over NYC and and me being a sucker for a King Kong-like story (knowing of course that no NYC monster can compare to Kong) I thought the story-line sounded good. Perhaps that's why the decided to do this film???? They thought the camera-work might make it seem more real/scary????
