Not really. There is difference between being made and becoming a don. At the end of the movie, Clemenza et al simply acknowleged their acceptance of him as don.


olivant, what is your opinion of Vincent being made at the end of part 3? Is it me, or did it look kind of ridiculous and last minute!?


I think the scene which you are referring to is when Vincent is named Don. I think Vincent was already a made man before GF 3 strats. Even though Michael didn't induct him he does mention that he worked for Joey Zasa who handled the Corleone Business in new York so it is possible that Zasa inducted him into the family
