Your own child could end up acting like that, I've seen the examples of such kids first hand and kids were raised in loving families, perhaps too much spoiling was the reason for the behavior of their child. Fact is, when it is not your own child and you don't have that long bond with him/her, you can certainly let go of them in a heartbeat.
