That's so true. I don't think people realize just how often this occurs. I imagine in bigger cities it's more widespread. If you have a bad stomach ache and don't have insurance, you go to the ER. That happens a lot in our hospitals here in California.

I had a friend some years ago, who was divorced with 3 kids and no insurance and that's exactly what she did. I couldn't even attempt to guess a dollar amount it would save, but I'm sure it'd be huge. smile
