Retail sales rise unexpectedly in February updated 10:49 a.m. CT, Fri., March. 12, 2010

WASHINGTON - Retail sales posted a surprising increase in February as consumers did not let major snowstorms stop them from racking up purchases. The advance, the biggest since November, provided hope that the recovery from the Great Recession is gaining momentum.

Some economists cautioned, though, that spending increases will remain modest as long as wages stay flat and job creation weak. They also noted that the government revised down the increase in retail sales for January.

I hate changing the time. 2 wall clocks, 2 alarm clocks,1 coffee pot, 1vcr/dvd combo player, 1 stove, 1 microwave.

Indoor plumbing? Nah, we are happy with our outhouse. Do you have any Sears catalogs we can borrow? And if you like we will send them back when we get done with them.

No Sears catalogs. Sorry. I hear the WalMart circulars work just as well, though.

When I can I only get clocks that set themselves, which includes my watch and 2 alarm clocks, one of the wall clocks, and of course the cable boxes. The oven and microwave and a clock here and there (plus my car) aren't so bad.

I forgot about my car and the Col's truck.

I'm happy to deal with resetting some clocks if it means I get to eat dinner with some sunshine. I love when it stays light out at night.

Why the F does Ticketmaster exist? To tell people that they CAN'T get tickets to the concert?? It SUCKS. They have a monopoly and they screw you every which way they can. How come I can't get tickets 2 minutes after a show goes on sale, but they're all over the internet like a rash? How do ticket brokers get the tickets? I don't understand! They're for sale on Stub Hub, Ticketzoom, Ebay, all over the place, but no matter how many times I go on Ticketmaster, they make me type in those stupid hidden words, only to tell me there are no seats available.

I'd rather be adding time to a day than subtracting it.

Babe, if you have an AmEx card, you need to look for presales. AmEx customers, for some shows, get a 2-day head start usually on the general sale. I got tickets that way for the Idol tour a couple years ago, and I see there's an AmEx presale for Glee (the 4th NYC show; the others are sold out) -- but I wasn't gonna pay $295/each for the fan package or even $44-94 for the shit seats (tho Radio City isn't too bad I guess)...

There was another show, I forget which, that Tickmaster asked for a Pop-Tarts password for a presale and I searched online and found it.

No more getting dark at 5:00 for a while.

I did the AmEx presale. Those sold out in the first 10 minutes. I was in the queue for so long that it sold out by the time I got through! The 4th show presale is 9:00 on Friday morning, and I'm going to try both online AND on the phone. I hate Ticketmaster.

You must really want to see that show/concert bad huh?

I don't use AmEx or any other ticket outlet. Instead, I use Remote. It enables me to sit in a comfortable chair with the snack bar and bathrooms just a few steps away, and air conditioning or heat adjustable to my comfort level. I pay just a few bucks and I get to see just about any movie or concert I want and I always to get to park right near the front gate.
