I went to get my Dad last night, more for my own sanity than anything else. He lost his power, so I knew I wouldn't sleep worrying about him.
Anyway, he lives up in Lake Isle, in Eastchester, which is just about 8 or 9 miles due north of where I live. Well, the Hutchinson River Parkway, which floods out during even a mild storm, was closed, as was the Bronx River Parkway. It took me 2 hours to get up and 2 hours to get back. There were so many power lines down that I had to swerve a few times just to avoid them.
Just awful. It reminds me of a Florida storm, because I've certainly never seen anything like it up here .
And SC, you're such a weather geek! But I mean that with respect. You really get passionate when you're "covering" the weather for us here on the GBB. I think you're more passionate about your weather forecasts than you are about The Godfather!
