Byron Dorgan, Ron Paul, Joe Stiglitz, Naomi Klein, Ted Rall, Paul Craig Roberts, Sherrod Brown and Pat Buchanan aside, most of the politicians, economists or analysts who are in a position to shape public opinion are not crazy about limiting a business' option to hire cheaper labor overseas. They are committed to "free trade". Obama does not rule by fiat and likely doesn't want to pick a fight on this-especially since by all appearances he is committed to "free trade" as well. This won't change until more people , Americans and others, organize to pressure politicians on this.
And THAT won't happen until the unemployment rate grows -especially for those making more than 150K, who don't have a particularly high unemployment rate, I think it was something like 4%.
