so it wasn't just fill a list up with the oldest known people.

I was filling out my list one night and my mother saw it and when she found out what it was, she flipped. Say that doing things like that was wrong and would bring bad things upon yourself.

Funny, it did seem that bad things did happen to several involved that year. Was it the game? Who knows for sure....

I don't get that, especially considering your family business.

To those who say this is wrong ~ I don't agree. Death is a fact of life. Talking about it and having some fun with it is not wrong. It is not as though we are wishing these people to die, but they will, someday. None of us can escape that fact. Why not have some laughs with it?

you are right, in our business we learn dignity and respect for people.

I am sure my mother would bring to our attention that the people on those lists and their families would not take it the same way. There is nothing to laugh about having a loved one sick or coming to the end of their years. The stress and emotions people go thru is as anyone can imagine tuff. Maybe that is why we offer each other our condolences and prayers during peoples loses and difficult times.

Sure I guess if you are willing to discount others for your enjoyment. Some people have different thoughts about the subject. It is not up to me to judge. But, how would you feel if people were taking a pool on how many people died in Hati this week? Would the statements still stand?

I know my father would skin me or any other person working for us if they didn't show the proper respect.

I myself remember losing my first pet.The best dog a kid could have, I think I was 9 years old or so..... I recall a friends father saying hey, it just a dog, they die, why are you crying.Get over it, grow up and be a man! You know what I thought right then...That he was the biggest ass there was for saying that.... and years later... the day we took him to the cemetery I thought to myself, I wonder what he would say now.

I don't think anyone has him, and I don't really know a lot about him, but know who he is. Teddy Pendergrass passed away a few days ago.

But someone isn't more likely to die if they're on your list than if they weren't on your list. That's a superstition I don't believe in; if I did, I may as well make 50 voodoo dolls...

And I don't want these people to die, nor am I going to cheer if any of them do. (Eric Rohmer was a mighty artist; his death is as sad as any other great artist's; he was on my list because of his age and health.)

If it were a case of listing those we want to die, as opposed to those we think might die, I'd have put Piers Morgan and Max Clifford on there in a flash...

I understand it completely. And the fact that they are on a list I don't like is just an opinion. But cheering/congratulating is out of the line for me. That's what I wanted to say (as you did, but I couldn't find the right english words )

Did anyone have country singer Carl Smith ? RIP don't know who he was though.

Pernell Roberts, who played the oldest son on "Bonanza" died today. He was 81 and had cancer.

All four stars of the show are now dead (Lorne Greene, Michael Landon and Dan Blocker were the others).

Oh yea, Adam Cartwright. He also had a tv show. I think he was a doctor??? You remember SC? Was it Trapper John MD?

My favorite Cartwright was always "Little Joe."

There was just an article in Entertainment Weekly about the biggest bone-headed departures in television history.

The three top spots went to Pernell Roberts for leaving "Bonanza," Shelley Long for leaving "Cheers" and McLean Stevenson for leaving "M*A*S*H."

But Adam Cartright was waaay cool!

We need to hope he gets better TIS, we don't have him on our list.
