Until recently I thought the X in X-Mas was X'ing out Christ, but I've since learned that the Greek letter X (Chi) stands for Christ, and has for at least 1000 years.
And I thought it started with the tree-sellers who didn't have a big enough piece of plywood to paint "Christmas" or that "Xmas" fit better above "Trees".
What does this have to do with the weather?
