Thanks to residential over-development, the deer are everywhere. Since the parkway I take to work is along a state park, there are tons of deer on the shoulder. It's also why we have such a high incidence of lyme disease. I often see deer in my yard, as well as coyotes and I even saw a black bear amble across the road on my way to work one morning.

Here's an important thing to remember when it comes to deer - if you see one, chances are there are more on the other side of the street.
