There's Russians who are of a Jewish background, though. However, most of them don't have any Jewish blood.
Not sure what the difference is, but next time you visit your family in Brooklyn you may want to swing by Brighton Beach. There are several hundred thousand Russians living there who are under the impression that they have Jewish blood in them. Maybe you can help enlighten them.
