As luck would have it, I was at that game. I was on the first base side a level below. The dad made a heck of a catch and was still receiving a rousing ovation from the packed stadium when he handed it to his daughter. There was a large collective "Awwwwwwww!" throughout the stadium when she tossed it below. Philly crowds aren't supposed to have a heart. I've seen them boo kids, dogs, Santa and Beyonce.

I couldn't tell you whether the guy got the ball back. The amount of publicity it's received surprised me as this wasn't the first time this kind of thing happens, but it does make a very cute video.
