HOT..........

It sucks here today. It's only in the low 60's.

Hot again this morning but thunderstorms now. Loud, scary ones!

I do miss those old thunderstorms.

Anyway, couldn't ask for a more beautiful weekend. Not too hot (at least for me), around 90 degrees and nice and sunny!!

One "good" thing about California (SoCal anyway) you can nearly "always" plan a BBQ or picnic in the summer and chances of a bad day are nil to none.

We've officially entered the "monsoon" season here in the high desert. From roughly July 1 to September 30, we can expect some rain and/or thunder/lightning every day. Monsoons are very important in this arid country, where water is an obsession. But there's a downside: lightning sets off wildfires (which can spread to thousands of acres in no time), and if the monsoons are especially heavy, more weeds will grow that become fodder for those wildfires.

Nice and warm and clear this morning. Was supposed to be getting cooler today but it appears the warm weather is continuing!

It'll be 103 here tomorrow. I'll probably keep my jogging to under 2 miles.

Just started to rain..

It's been unusually hot here in the high desert of Arizona: 96 high, 65 low. This kind of heat brings out the critters--yesterday we found a tarantula in our driveway. 90 miles south of here, in Phoenix, it's above 115.

I could deal with the heat but NOT tarantulas.

I've only had my A/C on for 2 days so far this summer. It's only been in the 70's here for the past couple of weeks.

The thunder has just stopped..

Boy, I'd give my right arm for a thunderstorm (ok, that's kind of drastic, but I do like them)

It is absolutely beautiful today reaching around 92. That's pretty warm, but it's suppose to get in triple digits, which is hot even for me. Not complaining though. Morning walks are so scenic.

We're in Tempe tonight, preparing for a flight out of Phoenix tomorrow. Temp was 117 today--like a hair dryer in your face. Unbelievable. Dangerous to walk one block.

If the ten day forecast is to be believed here in New York, we're going to get through the entire month of July without a single 90 degree day. That's never happened before. The 80 degree days are great, but I've needed a jacket at night more than once this summer.

Ask Al Gore how about that for an inconvenient truth.

Well it's been hot here. I actually went to the pool here yesterday and spent a couple hours swimming like a fish. Can't tell you how many years it's been since I've been swimming. It was 97 today and according the the forecast will remain in the high 90's and possible triple digits.

I had to drive out to Temecula (which is always hotter) and it was 104 degrees. I don't mind the heat, but even I have turned my air on the last couple days.

Same here in Mig territory. Lots of thunder. '73. Not a very warm Summer here. Makes me wonder what the Winter will be like.

Watch out for that Global Cooling effect.... or is that Warming? I get so confused.
