You guys and gals from the midwest MUST read some of Jean Shepherd's books! He's the guy who wrote "A Christmas Story" - ("you'll shoot your eye out").... he wrote a lot of autobiographical stuff about growing up in the mill towns of northern Indiana just off of Lake Michigan and he's absolutely hysterical. A few of his stories involve vacations in the area and I'm sure you'll all be able to relate to them.

He has four books that are absolute joys to read.


Yeah he was from around here. "The Region" is different than the rest of Indiana.
