TIS, I wanted to go to Florida by train. My husband refused to go. He did it once when he was a kid, because his mother developed a fear of flying. He said that it sounds like a terrific way to see the country, but the parts of the country that are near train tracks are not anything you would want to see.
Although I didn't like driving to Florida, I would like to try it when I have several weeks, maybe stopping in Washington, DC, Savannah, or other points south of where I live.
Yea, that's true. I was thinking more of staying overnight at least one night in various cities (maybe not even sleep on the train). But yea, hanging out by train stations wouldn't be too much fun (not to mention safe) I'm just tossing it around.
