No, but he did in WWI where he was wounded, received a couple of medals, and was temporarily blinded.
I'm thinking BAM_233 might have been asking if the 88 year old fought in WWII. based on simple math the 88 year old wasn't even born yet in order to have fought in WWI. But then again I could be totally off the mark.
