It has to be said (and I've been saying it for a long time), Shola Ameobi isn't good enough for professional football. I genuinely believe that. Our continued investment into him is becoming embarrassing; again, Newcastle thinking with their hearts ("Homegrown Talent!") and not their heads.

And I think it's far too early to be crying "Shearer" for a permanent, long-term contract. He's won one of eight games in charge and I don't think he's ready at all to be a manager. I'd prefer him in an assisstant's role, I think, like when Roeder was in charge.
