Don't know how accurate this is, but I heard on the radio the other day that Simon & Garfunkle's Mrs. Robinson was to be nominated for the song of the year at the Oscars in 67. According to the story, Paul Simon admitted he was so stoned (sign of the times?) that he forgot to send the necessary paperwork in thus eliminating the song from competition. Funny, I don't remember that either (sign of the times)
Anyway, I love that song and all the S&F songs from that movie. Sounds of Silence & Scarborough Fair were soooo popular. In mind mind S&G remind me of an "era". Even today though, I enjoy Paul Simon's voice. It's so pleasant to listen to.
